TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad are expected to announce an alliance later today to jointly develop a new range of electric two-wheelers. As per the latest reports, both the partners will co-develop an electric vehicle platform to manufacture a range of EV two-wheelers from scooters to motorcycles in India. The new range of EV two-wheelers will be manufactured in India at TVS Motor Company’s manufacturing facilities and will be sold in India, as well as exported to other parts of the world. carandbike has reached out for confirmation, and an official announcement is expected later today.

Both BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS are manufactured in India by TVS Motor Company
There is already an existing partnership between TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad to develop the 313 cc common platform, which is manufactured by TVS at its manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Under this partnership, TVS manufactures the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS to be sold in India and overseas markets, and TVS has its flagship Apache RR 310 supersport model.

The new EV partnership is expected to be similar, with BMW Motorrad providing R&D as well as technical expertise, and TVS Motor Company providing its own inputs on the common EV platform.
