The company recorded the highest ever turnover and profit during FY 2021-22, and achieved sales of 1 million two wheelers in the international market.

TVS records highest ever exports in a financial year in FY 2022

TVS Motor Company has registered a growth of 4 per cent in revenue from operations to ₹5,330 crore, as against ₹5,322 crore reported in the fourth quarter of 2020-21. Operating income before interest, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased to 10.1 percent for the fourth quarter. During the current quarter (January to March 2022), the profit after tax (PAT) was recorded at ₹275 crore, as against ₹289 crore in the fourth quarter of 2020-21. During the financial year 2021-22, revenue from operations grew by 24% to ₹20,791 crore as against ₹16,751 crore recorded in 2020-21. TVS Motor Company in a press statement said that the operating EBITDA for the year is higher by 9.4% as compared to 8.5% in the previous year.

Despite market challenges due to the pandemic as well as supply chain constraints, TVS recorded the best ever sales figures in the international markets in any financial year.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) before extraordinary items for the year ended March 2022 increased by 50% to ₹ 1,243 crore as compared to ₹ 826 crore in the previous year. The company recorded the highest ever turnover and profit during FY 2021-22, and achieved sales of 1 million two wheelers in the international market. According to TVS Motor Company, highest turnover and profit before tax, under extremely challenging conditions of second and third wave of COVID-19 as well as semiconductor shortage, lack of container availability and steep rise in commodity cost was achieved.

Net profit declined for Q4, but net profit for FY2022 grew by 46 per cent from ₹612 crore during the year ended March 2021 to ₹893 crore in FY21-22.

Net profit for the financial year ended March 2022 stood at ₹894 crore as compared to ₹612 crore reported during the year ended March 2021. In overseas markets, TVS two-wheelers earned 1.09 million units in FY 2021-22, achieving the highest ever. Exports for the first time in a financial year.

Total two wheeler and three wheeler sales including exports stood at 8.56 lakh units in the quarter ended March 2022 as against 9.27 lakh units in the quarter ended March 2021. The motorcycle sales registered a growth of 2% at 4.42 lakh units. The quarter ended March 2022 as against 4.31 lakh units in the March 2021 quarter. Scooter sales for the quarter ended March 2022 were registered at 2.62 lakh units as against 2.98 lakh units sold in the fourth quarter of 2020-2021.

During the year ended March 2022, TVS Motor Company’s total two wheeler and three wheeler sales including international trade grew by 8% to 33.10 lakh units as against 30.52 lakh units in the year 2020-21. Motorcycle sales during the financial year grew by 29% to 17.32 lakh units as compared to 13.41 lakh units in the year ended March 2021. The scooter sales were recorded at 9.23 lakh units in the year ended March 2022 as against 9.61 lakh units in the year ended March 2021. Three-wheeler sales grew by 39% to 1.72 lakh units in the year ended March 2022 as against 1.24 lakh units in the year ended March 2021. The company’s overall sales in the international markets registered a growth of 43% from 8.79 lakh units. The year ended March 2021 stood at 12.53 lakh units in the year ended March 2022.
