TVS Motorcycles has launched the new Ronin for the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). This bike has been launched in India in 3 variants. The bike was earlier expected to be a cruiser, but post launch, it has become clear that the bike follows the scrambler’s mixed design and cafe racer design language. With TVS Ronin, this is the first time that the manufacturer is foraying into a new segment of motorcycles in India. Till now, the manufacturer only had entry-level sports bikes like the Apache series, which are sold in India in multiple variants.

As mentioned above, the TVS Ronin gets a scrambler-based design with several elements that are reminiscent of a cafe racer. For instance, the bike gets a classic-looking circular Signature LED headlamp, complete with a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank, with flat side panels attached to a single-piece seat. The same design continues with the sleek look at the rear end of the bike tail light just below the seat. On closer inspection, the bike also gets a belly pan covering the engine.
The Ronin’s distinctive look is complemented by multi-spoke alloy wheels covered in dual-purpose tyres. Apart from this, the bike gets a round-digital monopod instrument cluster with intelligent electronic architecture and many features like TVS Smart Zonet connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call accepting, voice assistant and ride mode change and TVS app for better connectivity. Huh. It also gets a segment-first integrated starter and USB smart charger, among other things. Along with this, the hardware includes dual-channel ABS at the front and rear end of the bike. The ride is smoothened by Showa front forks and mono-shock at the rear end.

The engine of TVS Ronin is 225.9 cc. The engine produces 15.09 kW of power and 19.93 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is capable of taking the bike to a top speed of 120 km/h.
The new TVS Ronin will compete with models like Yamaha FZ-X and Honda CB350 RS in the Indian market.
The new TVS Ronin has been priced at Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant and could go up to Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
