NOIDA: Drones will not be allowed to fly in the “exclusion zone” of Supertech’s illegal twin towers when they are demolished on August 28, officials said on Wednesday. He said that drones would be allowed to move out of the exclusion zone only on the basis of permission from the police.

Structures nearly 100 meters taller than Delhi’s iconic Qutub Minar in Sector 93A of Noida will be demolished at 2.30 pm on Sunday. Officials said all residents of two adjacent societies – Emerald Court and ATS Village – will be evacuated, but an exclusion zone has been marked around the twin towers where no person, vehicle or animal is allowed during the demolition process. will not be given.

“The exclusion zone will include an area of ​​450 meters in front of the twin towers overseeing the street and the city park. On the other side of the towers, the exclusion zone will be up to 250 metres, Ram Badan Singh, deputy commissioner of police (headquarters), Gautam Buddh Nagar, told PTI. “The exclusion zone will be a ‘no fly zone’ for drones. Although drones can be used outside the exclusion zone, permission has to be taken from the local police in advance, Singh said.

He said the exclusion zone also includes a patch of Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, where vehicular movement will be halted from 2.15 pm to 2.45 pm on August 28. The measures are being taken as a safety precaution, according to officials, who said around 3,700 kg of explosives have been planted in the skeletal structures of the twin towers to detonate.

The collapse of the Apex and Cayenne towers will leave 35,000 cubic meters of debris – a large part of which will be kept in the basements of the towers, while the rest will be moved to a different location within Noida and processed scientifically.
