Twitter is testing ‘CC’ button for captions on videos

Twitter is testing a ‘CC’ button to toggle captions on and off on videos with available captions. The US-based microblogging platform is testing it for iOS users and will soon roll out to Android as well.

Twitter has been in discussion since Elon Musk Proposed to buy it outright. Meanwhile, it is also working on an edit button that may appear in future for users to edit/modify already sent tweets. It is still unclear whether the edit button will be limited to verified handles or will be available to all Twitter users in all geographies.

The social media platform has also added the downvoting option to the answers of users around the world. Downvoting is the kind of dislike that people register on a certain reply or reply to the original tweet.

It’s now easier for some of you to choose “Video Captions or No Captions, on iOS and soon on Android. In videos that have captions available, we’re going to add the option to toggle captions off/on with a new “CC” button Testing out,” Twitter Support tweeted.
