Twitter user’s request to Shahrukh Khan in the midst of summer goes viral

Temperatures are at record levels in many parts of India due to heatwave-like conditions. Running has also become extremely difficult due to the mercury hovering above 45 degree Celsius in the national capital Delhi and other places in North West India.

But a Twitter user came up with a unique and funny way of pleading for lowering the temperature. User Srishti Pandey tagged actor Shah Rukh Khan and referred to his 2001 film sometimes happy sometimes sad (K3G).

“Dear @iamsrk make the sun shine Please (please dim the sun),” Ms. Pandey from Delhi said in her tweet. The meaning of the tweet is “sun rises“, a song from Khan-starrer K3G.

Soon after posting the tweet, users started a thread adding more references to the film.

Heatwave is declared when the maximum temperature is more than 40°C and at least 4.5°C above normal in plains and at least 30°C or more for hilly areas. When heat wave conditions persist in different areas for two days, a yellow alert is issued.
