Twitter’s new edit button limits users to edit tweets at a given time: report

Microblogging site Twitter last week announced that it is working on bringing an edit button to its platform. The feature will initially be available to Twitter Blue customers in select countries before being released to all Twitter users. The much-awaited editing feature will allow users to go back and edit their tweets within 30 minutes. However, the microblogging site will reportedly limit users to only five edits within that time period. It could have been added by social media platforms to prevent users from discovering the new editing feature.

According to a report in TechCrunch, Twitter It was reportedly confirmed that the new edit button will allow users to edit their tweets only five times in a half-hour period. During this period, users can correct typos, upload media files, and edit tags.

Furthermore, the report reveals that the edit button will be available initially Twitter Blue Member in New Zealand. Twitter is reportedly monitoring user behavior with this new feature. In addition, it appears whether the edit limit should be changed within the specified period.

Additionally, the microblogging site will reportedly be rolling out the feature to Twitter Blue users in Canada, Australia and the US. There are concerns that the editing feature could be used to spread political misinformation or crypto scams. However, these use cases can only be studied once the feature is available to a wider user base.
