Both party supremo, former prime minister HD Deve Gowda and his son, former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy, were present at the event at their home ground. Attacking the MLAs, Kumaraswamy said, in politics, no one should be stabbed in the back. He said that during his tenure as CM, he had sanctioned Rs 500 crore for Arsikere, the constituency of Shivalingagowda, but the three-time MLA is praising Congress’s opposition leader Siddaramaiah.
In Arsikere, Shivalingagowda said he has not decided whether to resign or stay with the JD(S). He attributed his absence to prior commitments and claimed that he had informed former minister and Gowda’s son HD Revanna that he would not be present.
Asked about the brass’s criticism, which accused him of being involved in “drama”, Shivalingagowda said: “If they call it a drama, then let the people of Karnataka decide.”
Ramaswamy, a four-time MLA, had opposed the decisions taken by Revanna, but declined to comment.
