Two people died in a loud collision on the Ramanathapuram highway of Silaman police station area on Wednesday night. The deceased have been identified as T. Manimaran (50) of Koothiyarkundu and Ravindran (50) of Tiruppuvanam.
Police said Manimaran and his son Rajkumar were riding a motorcycle when a cow suddenly crossed their path.
When the bike rider tried to avoid hitting the cow, a bus following him hit the bike and Manimaran died on the spot.
The prince was injured in the accident.
The bus also hit the cow and the pregnant cow died.
After hitting the car parked on the side of the road, the bus rammed into another two-wheeler, which Ravindran was traveling in.
Silim Police is investigating.
