Two rescuers drown during relief work in flood-hit Telangana

Many districts of North Telangana have received heavy rainfall.

Two rescue workers were killed during the rescue operation in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district of Telangana, officials said. Rescue workers Satish and Ramulu were washed away while trying to rescue a pregnant woman in Bibra village in the worst-hit district of Telangana.

The region received 391 mm of rain in 24 hours, which was the highest in the country during that period.

Heavy rains have occurred in many districts of North Telangana. In the last five days, the state has received 455 per cent more rainfall.
