Two UP students score perfect 100 in JEE Mains – Times of India

Lucknow: Two students from Uttar Pradesh – Soumitra Garg from Meerut and Kanishk Sharma from Orai – are among 24 students who secured perfect 100 per cent marks in JEE Mains, the result of which was announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) late on Sunday night.

Pragati Agarwal of Gorakhpur became the topper of UP by securing 99.96 percentile.

Happy with scoring a century in the first JEE Main session, Saumitra said, “My paper went well and I was confident of a good score. Achieving 100 percentile is beyond my expectations.” For Kanishk, the second JEE Main session came with a perfect score. Kanishk said, “I had scored 99.93 in the first session, but when I finished the second session, the I was quite sure of 99.99 percentile, but 100 is definitely an icing on the cake,” Kanishk had scored 98% in Class 12.

Pragati, who had no idea of ​​being a woman state topper till TOI was informed about it, said: “This is another feather in my cap. I am extremely happy.” Last month, she topped CBSE class 12 in Prayagraj region with 497 marks out of 500.

Among the other 22 national toppers, there are five each from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, four from Rajasthan, and one each from Assam, Bihar, Punjab, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala and Haryana.

UP toppers, who are now preparing for JEE Advanced to be held on August 28, shared a common success mantra. According to him, NCERT books are most reliable for JEE preparation. He said that the Test series is equally important and there is no substitute for hard work. All three aspire to become software engineers.

NTA conducted JEE (Main) 2022 session 1 from June 24-30 and session 2 from July 25-30. A total of 10.2 lakh candidates registered for the exam conducted at 622 centers across 440 cities. The results released on Sunday were tabulated considering the best performance of the candidates in the two sessions. However, attending both the sessions was optional.
