The growth numbers finally show the road to recovery for Royal Enfield after sales were consistently below expectations during the last financial year (FY2021-22).
Royal Enfield posted a 10 per cent increase in the domestic sales figures as the company sold 53,852 units in April 2022 as against 48,789 units sold during April 2021. The growth numbers ultimately show a road to recovery for the Tamil Nadu-based motorcycle maker’s sales. Less than the expectations during the last financial year (FY2021-22). Royal Enfield Total (domestic+export) sales of 62,155 units were recorded last month, a growth of 16.62 per cent as compared to 53,298 units sold in the same period last year.

Royal Enfield 350 cc and above motorcycles register a year-on-year growth of 57 percent in April 2022
Royal Enfield saw a huge jump in its volumes with respect to exports in April 2022. The company sold 8,303 motorcycles in April this year, a whopping 84 per cent growth as against 4,509 units sold in April 2021. Month-on-month however, the company’s exports declined by 9.75 per cent with sales of over 9,200 units in March 2022. Royal Enfield said that the company registered steady volumes “despite persistent challenges on the supply front”.

Last month, Royal Enfield introduced new color options on the Meteor 350 to keep the model fresh and relevant. Sub 350 cc motorcycles continue to be the top contributors to the company with the likes of Bullet 350, Classic 350, and Meteor 350. The bikes collectively sold 51,564 units last month, which saw an annual growth of 11 per cent. Meanwhile, Royal Enfield Scrum 411 and Himalayan, as well as RE twins, contributed 10,591 units during the same period, registering a 57 per cent year-on-year growth in volumes.
