Two-wheeler sales December 2021: Hero MotoCorp registers a decline of around 12%

Hero MotoCorp sold around 3.5 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters in December 2021, compared to over 4.7 lakh units in the same month a year ago.

Hero MotoCorp has announced the monthly sales figures for the month of December 2021. India’s leading two-wheeler maker has reported total sales of 394,733 units, a decline of 11.7 per cent as against 447,335 units sold year-on-year (YoY). A year ago this month. Compared to 349,393 units sold in November 2021, Hero MotoCorp has registered a month-on-month (MoM) growth of 13 per cent. For the third quarter (October-December) of FY22, the company’s total volumes stood at 12,92,136 units.

The two-wheeler maker recorded its highest ever global sales in Asia, Africa, South and Central America and the Caribbean in the calendar year 2021. Hero sold 2.89 lakh two wheelers in CY2021 registering a growth of 71 per cent. As against 1.69 lakh units sold in the calendar year 2020.

Sanjay Bhan, Head of Global Business, Hero MotoCorp, said, “Our new strategy of R4 – Recalibrate, Revitalize, Revolution, Revive – has already started delivering results for us. In line with the volumes in our global markets in calendar year 2021 Our plans, taking into account the constraints in global logistics and supply chains due to the current Covid19 pandemic. We are well placed to meet our target of achieving 15% of the Company’s total volumes from our global trade by 2025. are on track.”

Hero MotoCorp is all set to unveil its first electric vehicle (EV) in March this year. It will be produced at the company’s manufacturing facility in Chittoor in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. In the press statement, the company also said that it continues to monitor the on-ground situation, although local restrictions imposed by some states in the wake of rising Omicron cases will continue to restrict customer movement.
