TVS further informed that motorcycle sales grew by 2.05 percent to 1,60,522 units last month as against 157,254 units in the same month last year. Scooter sales, however, declined by 9.8 per cent as the company registered sales of 94,747 units in March 2021 as against 1,04,513 units sold in March 2021. The manufacturer said the shortfall in supply of semiconductors impacted production and sales of premium two-wheelers. , TVS, however, said it is hopeful of an improvement in supplies in the coming months.

With regard to exports, TVS sold 1,09,724 units in March 2022 as compared to 1,19,382 units in March 2021, registering a decline of 8.4 per cent. Two-wheeler exports declined by 9.2 per cent to 95,962 units in February 2022 from 1,05,242 units in the same period last year. Three-wheeler sales also fell in March 2022, as it registered sales of 15,036 units as against 15,246 units sold in March 2021, a decline of 1.3 per cent.
