Investigators said today that two men were “on standby” to kill Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal if the two who killed him fail. A special court in Jaipur has given the custody of all the four persons to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) till July 12.

They were arrested hours after the murder, while two men on standby – identified by the NIA as Mohsin and Asif – were arrested on Thursday night for the alleged conspiracy.

The NIA said that Mohsin and Asif also helped the killers to escape from the spot. A scooter belonging to one of the killers, Mohammad Ghaus, was found parked in Udaipur – an important part of the investigation.
