Maharashtra political crisis: Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had met BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on June 21, the night of the MLAs turning against the MVA government, India TV sources said on Monday.

The CM had reportedly tried to strike a deal with the Leader of the Opposition, Fadnavis.

Sources also suggest that Thackeray was close to resigning after the night of the rebellion went live on Facebook. However, NCP chief Sharad Pawar had stopped him from doing so. The incident was repeated the next day, when Thackeray said he wanted to resign, but Pawar stopped.

Meanwhile, sources also informed that Eknath Shinde will not merge with Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in any way.
