Without naming Raj Thackeray, Uddhav, referring to Sanjay Dutt starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai, said, “Some people have started wearing saffron shawls and think that he is Balasaheb Thackeray. But he, like Munnabhai, suffers from a ‘chemical elasticity’ in his head.”
Speaking at Shiv Sena’s first major rally after the 2019 assembly elections, he reiterated that Marathi-speaking people over the Babri Masjid were Shiv Sainiks and hit out at BJP’s Fadnavis for claiming that he was present at the site.

Thackeray said that Fadnavis had said that he would make Mumbai independent. He said that Shiv Sena will not allow anyone to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra. Fadnavis had said in his rally that BJP would give Mumbai ‘freedom from corruption’.
