After a 2-1 loss in the first leg of the quarter-finals last Thursday, Italian side captain Lorenzo Pellegrini said Santos was attacked, while Knutson accused Roma’s goalkeeping coach of grabbing him by the throat.

UEFA said in a statement that Knutson and Santos would be suspended for the next UEFA club competition matches they would otherwise participate in until its controlling, ethics and disciplinary body decides on the merits of the case. .
