New Delhi: ensure the recognition status of higher education institution (HEI) and courses, equivalence of merit with conventional mode, and exclusion from the list of prohibited courses. UGC Guidelines for students seeking open admission and distance learning program, “Students should ensure the status of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) which includes accreditation status and eligibility status. Students should check which HEIs have been barred from offering ODL or online programs and check them’ placed under ‘No Admission Category’. University Grants Commission (UGC) said.
“Students should thoroughly check the HEI details on the Commission’s website, its documents, applications, affidavits. If any student finds any deviation in the details available on the official website of HEI, he/she should inform the UGC.” Told.
The commission has also notified a list of 17 programs which are prohibited to be offered under ODL and online mode.
These programs include engineering, medicine, physical therapy, pharmacy, hotel management, horticulture, nursing, law, agriculture, catering technology, aircraft maintenance, visual arts and sports.
“A student should ensure that the minimum duration, nomenclature and entry level qualification for ODL and Online courses under which enrollment is being made should be strictly as per the UGC notification. Minimum qualification for enrollment in UG program Class 12 pass and PG program for this is a bachelor’s degree.
The guidelines said, “UGC strictly prohibits universities, whether central, state, private or deemed universities, through franchising arrangements to admit learners and conduct courses through ODL and online mode.” Present your program.”
