UGC NET postponed 4 times in 10 months, candidates ask Education Minister for exam dates

NTA has postponed UGC NET 2021 four times in the last 10 months. The students are demanding that the final exam date should be released by the education minister as soon as possible.

Aspirants who are willing to clear the National Eligibility Test (NET) are waiting for the final exam date from December 2020. In the last 10 months, UGC NET has been postponed four times. The UGC NET December 2020 attempt has been merged with the June 2021 attempt, however, the exam is yet to be conducted for any attempt.

First the pandemic, and then the clash of UGC NET exam dates with other entrance exams, had made the exam conducting body – NTA – reschedule the exam time and again. After being postponed several times, the exam was last scheduled to be held between October 17 and 25, however, it was again postponed till further notice. As per the current status, there are no final exam dates. This has worried the NET aspirants who are seeking a final decision on their examination.

Candidates have now taken to social media platforms to express their concerns. He demanded the Education Minister to release the last dates of the examination at the earliest. He has asked the UGC to issue the admit card 10-15 days before the exam. They also demanded that 30 days notice be given to them before the exam and it should not be conducted suddenly so that they can prepare. To ask about the exam dates, candidates have taken to Twitter with the hashtag #ReleaseNETEXAMDATE.

Those who qualify the UGC NET exam will be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor in the colleges affiliated to UGC. NTA said Note that the exam dates will be announced soon.
