UK economy shrinks for second month as outlook dims – Henry Club

The UK economy contracted for the second straight month in April, as Rising inflation Weak consumer spending, and programs designed to stop the spread of COVID-19 were called off.

The UK statistics agency said on Monday that GDP – a broad measure of the goods and services produced in an economy – fell 0.3% from March. Economists expected to see a modest increase in output, after a 0.1% decline in the previous month.
