UK man tests positive in UP, walks out with ‘-ve’ report – Times of India

Bareilly: A British passport holder – who arrived in India on 24 November – tested positive for COVID, but managed to leave the country on 4 December after receiving a negative report from a private lab in Bareilly.
SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan said: “We will take action once the complaint is registered by the health department.”
The first sample of a person born in Bareilly and working in the UK was taken on December 3 and the report came on the same night. However, as per the records of other labs, RT-PCR It was collected on December 4 at 9 am and the report came by 11 am. After this he left for Delhi and boarded the flight at 4 pm. bareilly health department Orders have been given for investigation against another lab.
His swab collected by the first lab on December 6 was sent to Lucknow for further testing and the report came back positive. Dr Anurag Gautam, nodal officer for COVID in Bareilly told TOI, “The Lucknow lab confirmed that the man was infected. delta version, We are verifying the credibility of the second report…”
TOI contacted both the laboratories but they declined to comment.
