Ukraine’s Roman Yaremchuk was in tears after Benfica supporters were given a standing ovation during the Primary Liga clash against Vitoria SC on Sunday. Initially, the Ukrainian striker was not in the playing XI but came in as a substitute in the 62nd minute and was also given the captain’s armband. Benfica fans applauded her for her support for her home country invaded by Russia. Benfica won the match at the Estadio da Luz by a score of 3–0, with Darwin Nez scoring a brace.
