University launches project for drug free Puducherry

The Department of Social Work, University of Pondicherry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India, has launched the ‘Drug Free Puducherry District’ project, a community based project under the Drug Free India Campaign of the Ministry. As part of the project, two workshops are planned on May 5 and 6 to train aspiring faculty members from Pondicherry University and its affiliated colleges on ‘Prevention of substance abuse among youth’, R. The project will also create student social support platforms with faculty advisors to prevent drug use and serve as role models for positive behavior change.
