Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahi, starring Pankaj Parashar and SM Iqbal, is a remake of the 1992 Telugu film, Mondi Mogudi Penki Paylam. The story of the film revolves around the life of a village girl Durga (played by Sridevi), who gets the support of her husband Inspector Ajay (played by Akshay Kumar) to fight against discrimination against women.
A funny trivia about Meri Biwi Ka Jawaan Nahi is that the climax of the film was never shot due to a decade-long production delay. It was Akshay Kumar himself who joked about the film’s climax during one of his previous appearances on the chat show Koffee With Karan. Elaborating on the film’s climax, Kumar said, “He (Sridevi) and I hold hands and say we will take revenge in the film. But we didn’t shoot the revenge part. There is a text on the screen that read ‘They both met then.’ Badla liya (he later takes his revenge), and the film ends. After the revelation, Karan Johar, who was amused by the bizarre story, breaks out in massive laughter.
Akshay Kumar was last seen in the psychological crime thriller Katputli. Directed by Ranjit M Tiwari, the film premiered on September 2 on Disney+ Hotstar, also starring Rakul Preet Singh, Sargun Mehta and Chandrachur Singh in lead roles.
