The world of fashion is brimming with excitement after two red carpet-events took place in the month of May. First, the Met Gala was held in New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with some stunning and bizarre outfits by celebrities. Then the Cannes film festival was also quite the star-studded evening with some interesting and unique looks. Meanwhile, here in India, Instagram is no less than a fashion runway. “Hello friends, chai peelo,” she wrote in her post on Instagram which has received over 6 million views in the span of just 24 hours. In the clip, we saw Uorfi Javed drinking a cup of green tea by dipping a tea bag in hot water. Then, a wave of inspiration hit her and she decided to wear a dress made with tea bags! Yes, believe it or not, hundreds of tea bags were assembled to make Uorfi Javed’s latest head-turning outfit. The video also showed the outfit changing colour as hot water was poured over it.
Thousands of users shared their comments on the video. Many of them liked the use of tea in fashion. “This could be a great dress for Tea lovers, bas ek nikalo aur cup mein duba lo. I would honestly gift this to one of my colleagues,” wrote one user. “For creativity at least she deserves 100 points,” said another one. A couple of users also defended Uorfi Javed and her eclectic fashion sense. “I don’t know why people do so much criticism. When this same type of fashion is shown at the Gala, these same people just appreciate that. What’s wrong with this when some Indian is showing something creative,” said one user.
