UP Assembly by-election: BJP captures Gola Gokarnath seat

BJP’s Aman Giri defeated his nearest rival and Samajwadi Party candidate Vinay Tiwari by over 34,000 votes in the Gola Gokarnath Assembly bypoll. A senior official gave this information.

“Giri won by a margin of 34,298 votes. He got 1,24,810 votes and Tiwari got 90,512 votes.

After his victory, Giri said that he would fulfill the dream of his father Arvind Giri, who necessitated a by-election due to his death in September, and would ensure the development of the constituency.

He also thanked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for promising to develop Gola Gokarnath as ‘Chhota Kashi’.
