UP Assembly Elections 2022: Today is a holiday for voting in 11 districts

In the first phase of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, there will be a holiday in all the districts today so that citizens can exercise their franchise. Talking to ANI, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Uttar Pradesh, BD Ram Tiwari said, “There will be a holiday in all the eleven districts of western Uttar Pradesh where elections are going to be held so that citizens can exercise their franchise.”

The districts where voting is being held today include Mathura, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Hapur, Shamli, Baghpat, Aligarh, Agra and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

Tiwari said that those citizens whose names are in the voter list but have lost their voter ID cards can still cast their votes by showing other 12 photo identity cards like Aadhar card, MGNREGA job card, passbook, passport, service ID, PAN card. rights can be exercised. , Unique Disability Card etc.

Gautam Buddh Nagar District magistrate Suhas L Yathiraj on Tuesday urged voters to go out and vote “as our lives and the world depend on it, because they do”.

Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh It will be conducted in seven phases from February 10. The second phase will be on February 14, the third phase on February 20, the fourth phase on February 23, the fifth phase on February 27, the sixth phase on March 3 and the last phase on March 7.

Counting of votes for 403 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will be held on March 10.
