Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the arrangements in Kushinagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit on Monday on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Kushinagar is believed to be the place where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana after his death.
An official spokesperson said in Lucknow that Adityanath held a meeting with administrative and police officials at the Kushinagar International Airport complex and instructed them about the preparedness. The Chief Minister directed the officers that all the arrangements should be completed in time for the Prime Minister’s program in Kushinagar without any restrictions.
He took stock of the arrangements of the Mahaparinirvana temple and also offered prayers there.
