Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav has accused the ruling BJP in Uttar Pradesh of “insulting the entire Vishwakarma community”. The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister has promised to build a grand temple of Vishwakarma on the banks of river Gomti if voted to power in the 2022 assembly elections. He also announced that SP would bring back the holiday on Vishwakarma Puja if voted to power in UP.
Akhilesh was speaking at the Vishwakarma Jayanti program organized by the All India Vishwakarma Mahasabha at the SP office in Lucknow on Thursday. He accused Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of “insulting the Vishwakarma community”.
Akhilesh said, ‘There has been heavy damage due to rain in Uttar Pradesh and there has been loss of life and property. The government has not made any arrangement. This government is about to go, it will be wiped out. This government has humiliated every section of the society. This government has created a record of lies.
“There is also a training institute for the people of BJP, where they are taught to lie. Lies are being spread everywhere in the society. The Chief Minister removed Vishwakarma Puja leave, insulted the entire Vishwakarma society, it was our SP government which had declared a holiday on Vishwakarma Puja. Hanuman’s gada (mace) and Krishna’s wheel were made by the Vishwakarma community…” said Akhilesh.
Akhilesh further attacked the BJP government and said, ‘The government is only engaged in changing the name. Where has the dream of 5 trillion economy gone? The Chief Minister talked about the target of 1 trillion economy, where is it? Major MoUs were signed in Lucknow.
“There have been countless deaths due to corona in Uttar Pradesh, there was neither oxygen nor beds in hospitals. The ambulance started by the SP government came in handy during the Corona period. The lockdown was imposed in such a way that many poor people lost their lives. The government imposed the lockdown at the right time. Corpses were flowing in the Ganga,” the SP chief said, adding that BJP’s “e-ravanas” were sitting on social media and people need to be aware of the dirty tricks ahead of the 2022 UP elections.
