A spokesman said that the Uttar Pradesh government has appointed former University Grants Commission chairman Dhirendra Pal Singh as its advisor on education. Prof Singh was the chairman of UGC from 2018-2021.
Singh has also served as the Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (Banaras Hindu University), Dr. HS Gour University, Sagar (MP) and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (MP). He has also served as the Director of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
