UP Govt, Punjab Congress Twitter Handle Hacked With NFT Information After Similar Attacks On Yogi, IMD Accounts

The accounts of IMD (India Meteorological Department) and UGC (University Grants Commission) have also been hacked in the last two days.

The Twitter accounts of the Uttar Pradesh government and Punjab Congress were hacked on Monday, in which the attackers posted content related to NFTs.

There were several posts on the Twitter handle of Punjab Congress in which random users were tagged. A post that was pinned with the GIF image – read: “In celebration of the reveal of the Beanz Official Collection, we have opened an airdrop for all active NFT traders in the community for the next 24 hours! Claim Your Beanz (sic)” “

A similar message soon reached the account of the Uttar Pradesh government.

These incidents come days after the office of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted random tweets after the handle was hacked. “At 12:30 PM on April 09, an attempt was made to hack the official Twitter account of the Chief Minister’s Office @CMOfficeUP by anti-social elements who posted some tweets which were immediately recovered. (sic)”, read a statement from the state government.

The accounts of IMD (India Meteorological Department) and UGC (University Grants Commission) have also been hacked in the last two days.

“In celebration of the reveal of the Beanz Official Collection, we have opened an airdrop for the next 2 hours to all active NFT traders in the community!” The post posted on the IMD account read on Monday like the Punjab Congress account.

The hacking of UGC’s Twitter account came to light after some unknown hackers posted a thread of irrelevant tweets tagging multiple people.
