UP tops in JEE (Advanced), coaching hub AP, Telangana 4th, 5th – Times of India

Mumbai: Uttar Pradesh, with its largest population of square twelfth Passed-out, topped with 3,864 qualified candidates JEE (advanced) result. Rajasthan was second with 3,339 candidates. Maharashtra Ranked third this year in sending the maximum number of candidates – 3,036 – ahead of the coaching hub Andra Pradesh (2,241 candidates) in fourth place and Telangana (2,152) in fifth place.
However, the disparity remains between the successful states and fewer candidates being shortlisted, with the top five contributing more than 14,632, or 36% of the candidates who have passed the entrance exam for IITs.

“The whole focus has shifted to smaller towns where there is a hunger for technical education. In UP, there is a new love for professionals, with even parents from poor backgrounds waking up to quality benefits,” said Pradipta Banerjee, former director of IIT-Roorkee. “From affluent centers, many children are going abroad and have a new-found love for pure science.”
An IIT faculty said, “Many CBSE students manage to crack JEE, but we see that every year the dynamics of other state boards change. An IIT dean said Andhra Pradesh has invested heavily in education. “From schools to colleges, there is a greater emphasis on education.” Maharashtra has seen improvement in the last five years.
However, like most years, many candidates register for JEE depending on the state where they are being trained. For example, hundreds of students from Mumbai would register and take exams in Rajasthan, where they were being trained. But the data collected by IIT-B times of India Indicates the list of candidates who have qualified from different states. The state information is to be filled by the candidates while registering for JEE (Mains) as the state eligibility data will be used for admission in the NIT system during counselling.
