UPSC Exam 2022: UPSC 2022 Civil Services Preliminary exam held today, check question paper PDF and other guidelines – Times of India

UPSC 2022 Civil Services ExamUnion Public Service Commission (UPSC) has conducted the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2022 today, June 5, 2022. The commission has already issued the guidelines which the candidates have to follow on the day of examination.

The exam was conducted in two shifts:-

First shift started from 09:30 am to 11:30 am

Second shift started from 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM

The General Studies I exam was conducted in the morning session while the CSAT exam was conducted in the afternoon session.

As a part of the Civil Services Preliminary Examination, candidates had to appear for two papers, both based on objective type questions, for 200 marks each. UPSC Prelims General Studies I question paper was of 100 marks. Candidates have to secure minimum 33% marks in UPSC Prelims General Studies II Exam.

More than one lakh candidates had appeared for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Preliminary exam was the first stage for UPSC Civil Services 2022 Recruitment. Candidates, who appeared for this exam and qualified in preliminary exam will be eligible for main exam.

It is to be noted that prelims is only a qualifying stage and marks obtained in preliminary exam will not be counted in the final merit list. Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in main examination and personal interview.

This year, the Quantitative Aptitude section had questions from Time and Work, Sequence and Series, Time and Distance. Even the question paper in the recent biggest pandemic – Coronavirus, Aarogya Setu app and other questions were based on Indian culture and heritage. According to the candidates, the reasoning questions were time consuming but solveable. Some aspirants are confirming that this year CSAT questions were easy and straightforward as compared to last year, on the contrary many candidates found the paper tougher than last year.

1. Electronic devices, mobile phones, smartwatches and other related items were banned inside the examination hall.

2. Candidates are required to submit the printout of their e-Admit Card at the allotted venue for appearing in the examination.

3. The candidates were required to carry the photo identity card for appearing in each session of the examination.

4. Candidates have to enter the examination venue 10 minutes before the scheduled time.

5. There was no dress code for the exam day as mandated by UPSC Prelims 2022, but valuable and expensive things were not allowed inside the examination hall.
