US employers added 390,000 jobs in May, sparking a series of solid hiring spree that bolstered an economy under pressure from high inflation and rising interest rates. President Joe Biden on Friday hailed the May jobs report numbers, calling them “historically strong” and saying they are one of the signs of a “healthy economy”. Biden said that because of the progress his administration has made on the economy, “Americans can deal with a situation of consolidation from inflation.”
