US Open 2022: Reigning world No. 1, Inga Swietec registered a thumping victory and advanced to the fourth round at Flushing Meadows. She was up against Lauren Davis of America. Sweetek displayed his world-dominance on the court and despite all the struggles, claimed a 6-3, 6-4 victory in the third round match. After the match, Sweetek admitted that he struggled to find his footing and rhythm in the opening minutes of the game. The world number one crashed out of the second set to register a 6-3, 6-4 win over her opponent.

The French Open champion made a strong serve to help her win the first set but Lauren Davies responded quickly and took a 4–1 lead. But Sweetek didn’t last long as he won an intense 16-shot rally that resulted in setting breakpoints for him. This derailed Davis’ game plan as he returned a backhand that went straight into the nets. The match was being played at the Louis Armstrong Stadium and Sweetek was seen struggling.

“I couldn’t find my rhythm today and Davis played in a completely different way than any other player. She was extremely smart in her gameplay today. I’m trying to enjoy every match, even if I not playing perfectly .just trying to go for it trying to find solution in every situation“, opened Sweetek in an on-court interview.
