US Supreme Court blocks Biden’s Covid vaccine-or-test mandate for businesses

The vaccination mandate for health care workers was approved in a 5-4 vote.

Washington:

The US Supreme Court on Thursday slammed President Joe Biden, forcing his COVID vaccine-or-testing mandate for big businesses to be halted.

In a divided decision, the nation’s highest court allowed a vaccine mandate for health care workers to proceed at facilities receiving federal funding.

But the court’s six conservative judges ruled against Biden’s bid, announced in September, to mandate vaccination or weekly testing for COVID-19 in companies that employ 100 or more workers.

Three liberal judges disagreed.

The vaccination mandate for health care workers was approved in a 5-4 vote, with Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh, both conservatives, joining the three liberals.
