Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday shared some sweet memories of Bappi Lahiri’s songs as the cricketer condoled the demise of the legendary singer-composer. Tendulkar took to Twitter and wrote that he used to listen bappi dassong of “remembering” In the dressing room of Team India.

Former India captain and star batsman Virat Kohli also condoled the death of Bappi Lahiri.

Dr Deepak Namjoshi, the doctor, cardiologist and pulmonologist treating the musician, said that Bappi Lahiri had died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea).

Bappi Lahiri was also admitted to the hospital in April last year after he tested positive for coronavirus.

Lahiri passed away on Tuesday night at the age of 69. Music composer Alokesh Lahiri is credited as a pioneer of synthesized disco music in Indian cinema during the 1970s to 1990s with songs such as “I’m a Disco Dancer”, “Jimmy Jimmy”. , “Inteha Ho Gayi”, “Tamma Tamma Logge”, “Yaar Bina Chain Kahan Re”, and “Tonight Jaane Toh”, etc.

The composer last worked on “Ganpati Bappa Morya” in September 2021. He composed the music for the devotional song, which was voiced by US-based Indian singer Anuradha Juju Palkurthi.

Although Lahiri remained involved and received nationwide acclaim for the disco sound he brought to the Hindi music scene, he was also known for composing some of the most beautiful songs of his era, including “Chalte Chalte Mere Yeh Geet Yaad Rakhna” and “Little Mere Yeh Geet Yaad Rakhna”. Paag Ghungroo”. Bandh Meera” from “Salt Halal”.

The singer is survived by his wife Chitrani, two children – daughter Reema, who is also a singer, and musician, son Bappa Lahiri.

The last rites will be performed on Thursday when Bappa Lahiri returns from Los Angeles, USA.
