UTS mobile app for train ticket booking now in Hindi – Times of India

union territories Railway ticket booking app will now be available in Hindi language also. Developed in-house by Indian Railways, this app was till now available only in English language. According to the ministry, the app currently has around 1.47 crore registered users. The app allows users to book unreserved tickets using various digital payment options such as rail-wallets, debit cards, credit cards, net banking, UPI and e-wallets. Rail-Wallet users also get 5% bonus on recharge.
Traditionally, unreserved tickets were sold at the booking counters of railway stations. With a view to reduce the waiting time of passengers at the booking counters, Railway Ticketing Agents and Automatic Ticket Vending Machines were introduced by Indian Railways as additional points of sale at major stations. However, physical presence of customers was required at all three of these points of sale.
To use the services provided by the app, you can download it from Play Store or App Store. Once you have registered on the app using your name, mobile number and other required information. You will receive an OTP on the registered mobile number and once the OTP is entered, the login ID and password will be sent to your mobile number to access the account.
UTS App First launched in December 2014, the system was then tested on the parameters of safety, security and customer experience and later spread across the Mumbai suburban area. Gradually the mobile ticketing app was expanded to the metro cities of Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and Secunderabad between 2015-17. From November 2018 onwards this app is also available for inter zonal travel i.e. between any pair of stations across Indian Railways on the pattern of normal ticketing.
