UP Deputy CM says recent exodus of MLAs won’t make any difference to BJP

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was the state unit president of the BJP in 2017 when the party registered a landslide victory in the assembly elections. In an interview, he shared his views on the BJP’s campaign pitch, leadership issues in the party and the recent exodus of 10 MLAs to the Samajwadi Party.

They wrote as people’s representatives, alluding to the issues they were facing.

But it was more about how the distance between Lucknow and the districts had become too large and they felt inferior.

During the coronavirus pandemic, we fought the good fight within the resource constraints we were facing. In June last year, there was much talk of replacing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, that he relied on a circle of officials and had less trust in his own ministers than in him. The buzz was that you were also upset. What is the status of the leadership now? Have all the issues been resolved?

Most of these speculations are from the opposition and our friends in the media. There is no difference between our government or between me and Yogi.Yes, and neither will be. We are all together for public service, and take our guidance PM Modi, Party President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. they are ours guide, and the party is united under them. The result will come on 10th March and will be like 2017 with more than 300 seats for us.

The BJP recently witnessed the exodus of 10 MLAs, including three ministers, to the Samajwadi Party in the Yogi Adityanath government. Are you worried about the outcome of this migration?

It doesn’t matter to BJP. We are so strong organizationally not only at booth level but also at every page [page] Voter list level, that you can send any candidate and our workers will ensure victory. Whoever the BJP chooses as a candidate, the party organization has able [capacity] To make sure the candidate wins, and that adds to the candidate’s own strength, making our winning margin bigger. Forget hurting BJP, Where these people have gone, in those parties, I have started a split. [these people are now creating problems for the parties they have joined after leaving BJP], Those who have left BJP are now changing the constituency they are fighting from, they are leaving their old constituencies because they fear defeat.
