Prayagraj : With Uttar Pradesh Government orders lifting of restrictions, leading English medium schools are increasing fees for the academic session 2022-23. In view of the Kovid epidemic, the government had banned private schools to stop the fee hike.
In an order issued by Additional Chief Secretary (Secondary Education) Aradhana Shukla, schools have been allowed to increase the fees by 5 percent of the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The fee structure of the academic session 2019-20 will be kept as the basis as per the instructions.
St.Joseph’s College has already sent an SMS to the parents of the fee hike.
It has been said in the SMS that according to the order issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on April 8, the fees for the next two quarters have been increased. If there is any order or amendment regarding fee hike in future, the college will adjust it in the last two quarters.
According to the fee receipt given by St. Joseph’s College to the children, an increase of more than Rs 500 per month has been made.
For example, last year the monthly fee for children of classes 6 to 8 was Rs 3,573, which has now increased to Rs 4,114 – an increase of Rs 541. Similarly, the fees in other classes have also been increased.
Maharishi Patanjali Vidya Mandir, Teliarganj, MPVM Ganga Gurukulam in Phaphamau and Patanjali Rishikul in Tiarganj have also increased fees by between 9 to 10 percent.
An employee of a private firm, whose son is a class 8 student in MPVM, received an SMS on Wednesday evening regarding the fee hike, said an employee of a private firm.
He said that the parents have been asked to deposit the fees within two days of receiving the SMS. Nityanand Singh, principal of Patanjali Rishikul in Teliarganj, said, “We have recently decided to increase the fees as per the order of the Uttar Pradesh government. Parents are being informed.”
