Lucknow: In another milestone, UP has become the first state to have administered more than 30 crore doses covid-19 vaccine,
Official data from the CoWin portal indicates that 30.02 crore doses of the vaccine have been administered in the state, which is the highest number achieved by any state in the country so far.
184.16 crore doses have been given at the national level. Maharashtra, where 16.13 crore doses have been given so far, is followed by West Bengal (13.52 crore doses), Bihar (12.50 crore doses) and Madhya Pradesh (11.59 crore doses).
The highest dose – 18.41 crore – has been given in the age group of 18-44 years. Six crore doses have been given in the age group of 45 to 60 years, while more than 3.45 crore doses have been given in the above 60 group. 2.03 crore and 10.33 lakh doses have been given in 15 plus and 12 plus categories respectively.
To speed up the vaccination campaign of children in the state, Yogi Adityanath has also asked the concerned officials to ensure adequate availability of vaccine in Uttar Pradesh. Aggressive vaccination is an integral part of the Yogi-led UP government’s comprehensive strategy to contain the pandemic along with adherence to coronavirus-appropriate behavior, an official statement said.
