Jhansi : A police inspector posted in Jhansi was arrested on saturday and reportedly sent to jail rape Wife of a constable.
The accused inspector was posted nawabad Police Station SDR. According to the rape victim, she is married to a head constable who was posted in Jhansi till recently. She has accused the inspector of making a false promise to marry her for which she was ready to divorce her husband.
He raped her on this pretext but later refused to marry her. The survivor had earlier also filed a report against Porwal in April, which was later suspended. However, he later withdrew his police complaint claiming that they had resolved the matter.
On this basis, the police had then submitted the final report (FR) in the case. According to the survivor, after filing the FR, the inspector again refused to marry her and raped her during the interim period.
Police sources said on the basis of anonymity that both the accused and the victim are childhood friends from Kanpur. She got married and she came to Jhansi and later the accused also got posted here and they had a relationship again.
