Uttarakhand: Five eminent people representing different fields, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, have been selected for the “Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman” this year.

Announcing the award, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appreciated all the recipients of the award. He tweeted in Hindi, “On behalf of all the people of the state, I express my gratitude to these great sons of ‘Devbhoomi’, who have brought the flag of fame to Uttarakhand all over the world through their inspirational works in various fields of social life. I hoisted.” ,

Others honored with the award are former Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat (posthumously), Central Board of Film Certification Chairman Prasoon Joshi, poet late Girish Chandra Tiwari ‘Girda’ (posthumous) and late Viren Dangwal (posthumous). According to reports, Chief Minister Dhami will present the award to him at a function organized on the state’s foundation day on November 9. The award carries an honorarium of one lakh rupees, a citation and a memento.

About Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman

Along with the Uttarakhand Ratna, the Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman is one of the two highest civilian awards in the state. It is given to a person for his exceptional contribution in any field of human endeavour.

It was formed in the year 2021 by the Government of Uttarakhand. The award was instituted by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in 2021. It was formed on November 9, 2021, on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the state.
