Sri Sathya Sai District Collector P. Basant Kumar on Saturday released a poster announcing the merit test to be conducted by an NGO Vadanya for class IX and X students of 175 government schools in the district.
This exam will be conducted on the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan. The winners will be given ₹25,000 in cash, ₹15,000 as second prize and ₹10,000 as third prize.
Society’s founder P. Ashok and members Jayaprakash, Chiranjeevi, Ubaid Syed and Umar Farooq, who attended the function, said that those who ranked 4th to 8th would be given ₹5,000, 9th to 13th ₹3,000, 14th ₹2,000. ₹1000 for 18th and 20th position.
Some deserving people will be given assistance for their studies in future also, Mr. Ashok said.
