Union Minister L. Murugan, CT Ravi visit flood affected areas
BJP state president K. Annamalai on Saturday said that MDMK general secretary Vaiko has insulted the entire police force by saying that Annamalai is only a police officer and is not qualified to comment on the Mullaperiyar dam issue.
“Thinking that he is insulting me, he has insulted the police force. Is he commenting on the issue now because the protests organized by the BJP four days ago were pressured by farmers or just to support the DMK government,” the BJP leader asked.
Murugan Helps
During the day, Union Minister of State L. Murugan and Tamil Nadu BJP in-charge CT Ravi separately visited various flood-affected areas in Chennai and distributed flood relief. Shri Murugan said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured full cooperation to the state government. He said the DMK was in power from 1996 to 2001 and 2006-2011 but did not make any long-term plans. “The chief minister should take proactive steps instead of blaming the other government,” he said.
