Van Gogh in 360° of the World: Experience a Mega Art Exhibition in New Delhi

One of the most iconic painters and proponents of Post-Impressionism, Vincent Willem van Gogh’s artworks are getting a 360° technical adaptation. The traveling exhibition Van Gogh 360°, which arrived in India at the World Trade Center in Mumbai in January this year, has now reached New Delhi and will visit 15 more cities in the country including Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Pune. Canadian company Festival House Inc., which owns IP van Gogh 360, calls the retrospective an ‘immersive experience’ and claims that ‘large-scale 360-projection has been achieved using projectors and high-powered computer servers’. which provides crisp and compelling pictures.

Mark Monahan, executive director of Festival House Inc., says that Van Gogh 360° has been displayed in several cities across Canada, including its capital Ottawa, before India. “We visited exhibitions in cities in Europe and North America, including New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto, and reached out to a Toronto-based company that specializes in video content to visualize the sequence and interpret Gogh’s art – using A mix of well-known and lesser-known pieces spread throughout Car Gogh’s body of work – all set to an original soundtrack,” he says.

More than 300 of Gogh’s works are included in the digital exhibition, including The Starry Night, Sunflowers, Potato Eaters, Self-Portraits, Wheatfield with Crows, Bedroom in Arles and Almond Blossoms. “The exhibition took eight months to develop,” says Mark. “Viewers are immersed in floor-to-ceiling projections that animate the master’s work.
