Varanasi: Engine and 20 coaches of a goods train going from Lucknow to Varanasi derailed Shri Krishna Nagar in railway station jaunpur Thursday at 7.57 am.
Due to this the movement of trains continues Lucknow-Varanasi Rail route blocked through Sultanpur and many trains including Delhi-Varanasi Mahamana Express Ravi Chaturvedi, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Northern Railway, Varanasi said that they were stopped at various railway stations.
He said that DRM NR Lucknow and other senior officials have reached the spot, where the operation to clear the tracks and restore train movement has been started at a fast pace.

Goods trains were going from Lucknow to Varanasi with about 60 empty bogies. When it derailed when it was passing by Shri Krishna Nagar railway station in Badlapur area of ​​Jaunpur district, officials said, raising suspicion that the accident was caused by a damaged railway track.
Officials said the actual reason behind the derailment would be clear after a proper investigation.
As the coaches of the train started colliding with each other while derailing, hundreds of local people gathered near the spot after hearing a loud sound. Employees of Shri Krishna Nagar station informed the immediate neighboring stations and senior officials after which all trains running on Lucknow-Sultanpur-Varanasi line were stopped at different railway stations.
