Varun Gandhi, mother Maneka not in BJP’s 80-member top brass list

BJP President JP Nadda on Thursday announced the 80-member national executive of the party, whose top leaders range from the Prime Minister’s name. Narendra Modi The list includes several Union ministers, several state leaders and stalwarts like LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi.

Apart from 80 regular members, the executive committee will have 50 special invitees and 179 permanent invitees. However, the names of BJP MP Varun Gandhi and mother Maneka are not in the list. Varun has been protesting against the recent Lakhimpur Kheri violence, and is demanding “accountability”.

The executive is a major deliberative body of the party that meets to discuss the major issues facing the government and shape the agenda of the organisation.

The disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has put its meeting on hold for a long time. The list is expected to include several Union ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, including the recently inducted minister Ashwini Vaishnav.

Former Union ministers like Prakash Javadekar, Harsh Vardhan and Ravi Shankar Prasad also remain members of the National Executive.
