Veeam’s new boss is the latest in the ranks of global Indian-origin CEOs

As Indian-origin techies continue to lead global technology companies, the latest to join the ranks is Anand Easwaran, a former Microsoft and RingCentral executive. He has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by Veem.

Easwaran will replace William H. Largent at VIEM, who will move on to his new role as chairman of the board of directors.

Easwaran’s appointment comes as another Indian-origin executive is being promoted to the top post in IT organisations. On 29 November this year, India-born Parag Agarwal was promoted as the new Twitter chief after Jack Dorsey decided to step down.

Other India-born tech CEOs around the world include IBM’s Arvind Krishna; Google’s Sundar Pichai; Microsoft’s Satya Nadella; Adobe Inc’s Shantanu Narayan and VMware’s Raghu Raghuram.

Easwaran previously headed RingCentral as its President and Chief Operating Officer. RingCentral said the company’s numbers recently showed $1.6 billion in revenue, a 39% jump from the previous fiscal year.

Prior to RingCentral, Easwaran was Corporate Vice President at Microsoft’s Commercial Enterprise and Public Sector Businesses.

Largent, who has served as CEO of Veem for more than 13 years, said, “Anand has the power to develop innovative business models, drive market expansion and drive growth with an inclusive objective and a people-first culture. Has extensive experience in speeding.”

“Veem has a unique opportunity to be different as we sit in the middle of the data ecosystem with the most robust ransomware protection and ability to protect data,” Easwaran said.

Veeam currently has around 400,000 subscribers and has surpassed $Billion in revenue for the 2021 fiscal year. The company provides solutions for data migration and protecting data in hybrid cloud environments.
